The trip

“Travelling is life, life is travelling.” Things are planned, things change. The chances of a change of my itinerary are there of course, although from the comfort of my chair it is easy to say that I will stick to it.

The reason for this journey is to find space. The last few years, but especially the last year were very stressful. A few years ago I dealt with a severe back injury, got through that, but last year was as intense as I ever will experience. I teach graphic design and illustration and I am passionate about the communication industry and also teaching. When, like in 2011, you are blessed with exceptional students who’s intelligence and talent needs to be fed and catered for, one can run himself into the ground.

That nearly happened as the student squeezed me empty of my energy, whilst I totally let it happen and enjoyed the ride. And I am not regretting a second of it. This journey is primarily focused on finding space, on getting fit again and in building new energy for the next chapter in my life. I will visit people on the road that have meant big things to me, and who have contributed to a range of experiences for which I am very grateful.

So, after saying goodbye to so many good and inspirational friends here in Adelaide, South Australia, I intend to follow this route:

Stage 1
Stage 2
Stage 3
